On and Around Hoy
The Community bus runs 2 ‘hail and ride’ services:
- Route 1 between Longhope and Lyness, meeting most sailings Monday – Friday.
- Route 2 Sunday only route between Longhope, Lyness and the north of Hoy pier.
We have a field site set aside for camping. The site is within easy walking distance (approx. 0.3 miles,6 minutes) from the YM Hall, and will be signposted during the event. Please note there are no power supplies, toilets or showers provided on site, (unfortunately we couldn‘t source any portable toilets this year); however toilets are available either at the YM (the back door will will be open 24/7 to give access to the toilet there), or next to the RNLI building at the Longhope pier (approx. 0.4 miles, 7 minutes). There is also a pay meter shower at the pier.
Fresh water will be available at the campsite.
Littering/ site damage will not be tolerated. No open fires. Rubbish bags provided.

There are no cashpoints on the island, however cash withdrawal is available at the shop for most cards, and cashback is also available at the till when purchasing goods. The shop is closed on Sundays.
